Arsenal vs Brentford preview

Mikel Arteta’s side may look back in disappointment after failing to take all three points from a Chelsea side that played over 50 minutes with 10 men last weekend, as Man City’s win over Leeds closed Arsenal’s lead to four points.

Manager Mikel Arteta’s side have been near perfect at home so far, winning five, scoring 16, and only shipping two goals in six matches at the Emirates Stadium so far.

The visitors, however, have been one of the season’s surprise packages this season; responding to all critics emphatically so far, comfortably perched in mid-table with 21 goals scored in 13 games.

Despite this, Keith Andrews’ Brentford side have lost five out of six on the road, with only rock-bottom Wolves picking up fewer than Brentford’s three away points; their six away goals also rank amongst the league’s lowest away scorers.

Leeds vs Chelsea preview

Leeds are desperate for a change of fortune when they host Chelsea, as the hosts have lost four English Premier League matches on the bounce, conceding 11 in the process.

Manager Daniel Farke’s side have shown some promise at Elland Road, beating Everton and West Ham, as well as taking points from Newcastle and Tottenham.

Visitors Chelsea have impressed away from home, taking 13 points in six away fixtures whilst scoring a league-leading 14 goals.

Key midfielder Moises Caicedo earned a three-match suspension for his red card against Arsenal, meaning Chelsea have received an unbelievable four red cards in 13 English Premier League matches, five if you include manager Enzo Maresca against Liverpool.

Liverpool vs Sunderland preview

Liverpool earned a much-needed win away at West Ham last weekend, after back-to-back 3-0 losses to Man City and Nottingham Forest were followed by a 4-1 drubbing at home to PSV in the UEFA Champions League.

Alexander Isak, Liverpool’s £125 million signing, scored his first English Premier League goal since May in a match that took Liverpool up to 8th place, two places behind their upcoming opponents.

Sunderland’s Premier League start has defied all expectations as they sit on 22 points after 13 games, despite the xG table suggesting they should be in 16th place.

Manager Regis Le Bris has described this week as ‘ one of the strongest of my football life – and the most exciting’ as his side take on Liverpool and Man City before the Tyne-Wear derby later this month.
