Premier League parlay: Tudor’s terrible Tottenham meet Arteta’s choke artists Arsenal

Liverpool to win vs Nottingham Forest

Sunderland to win vs Fulham

Arsenal to win vs Tottenham

Combined odds: +604 on FanDuel

The Premier League Sunday slate actually hosts some interesting matchups this weekend, in what feels like the first time since a McDonald’s cheeseburger was $1.

Why did I mention McDonald’s? Now I’m hungry, and my wife has me stuck on some lousy diet. Do you know what else I’m hungry for? A WINNING PARLAY!

Who knows, maybe if this one wins, I’ll swing through the drive-thru and eat a sneaky Big Mac in the car.

Anyway, let’s get my picks for Sunday’s games out of the way before I waste away from famine…

Liverpool to win vs Nottingham Forest

Sunday, February 22 (9am ET/2pm GMT)

Is there a limit on how many “new manager bounces” a team can have in one season? Liverpool aren’t exactly bulletproof, but they also aren’t as hellbent on self-sabotage as Forest.

Vitor Pereira is the fourth manager to take charge at Nottingham Forest in just five months, an absolutely ludicrous stat. But when you have a Bond villain in charge, what do you expect?

I expect Liverpool to get the business done comfortably here and Evangelos Marinakis to be scouring Indeed for new managerial candidates by halftime.

Sunderland to win vs Fulham

Sunday, February 22 (9am ET/2pm GMT)

Sunderland suffered their first defeat at home this season at the hands of Liverpool in their last Premier League outing and will be looking to get back to winning ways on Wearside after resting some key players in the FA Cup.

Whilst creating chances remains a problem for Sunderland, they always seem to find a way to get the job done on Wearside.

Fulham won the reverse fixture, but again, Sunderland are a different beast at home than they are on the road.

Fulham are as uninspiring as ever – what do you expect from a team that has a ‘neutral end’ – disgusting behaviour.

They could very well come away with a draw here, and they would likely be happy with that. But I just don’t think they have enough to break down Sunderland’s stubborn backline whilst also keeping them out at the other end.

Double chance Sunderland to win or draw is an option for those less optimistic than me, but fortune favours the brave – I hope.

Arsenal to win vs Tottenham

Sunday, February 22 (11:30am ET/4:30pm GMT)

Igor Tudor will be on the touchline for his first game in charge, to witness firsthand how bad the team he has taken over is.

It’s a very uninspiring appointment. He was sacked by Juventus after less than a year in charge and somehow managed an eight-game winless run. They might have been better off with relegation-saving expert Sam Allardyce, given their current situation.

Arsenal have a lot of quality and will want to draw on all of it, not only to help get one step closer to the title but to embarrass their rivals and push them closer to the relegation zone.

It will genuinely be hilarious if Tottenham somehow manage to get relegated, given the plethora of awful teams this season.

At least when (not if) both my Saturday and this Sunday parlay come in, I can phone in sick for work on Monday – unless my boss is reading this. In which case, I’ll see you Monday.

I would say if my wife were reading this, I’d also be in trouble. But I’m always in trouble with her regardless.
