Sunday means one thing: Premier League football, questionable refereeing decisions, and my latest attempt at funding my future beachfront property somewhere in Florida.
Last week’s parlay? Devastating. Absolutely textbook “one-leg-lets-you-down” material. And to twist the knife, it was my own beloved Sunderland doing the damage.
I’ve known heartbreak before – but never one that cost me my imaginary early retirement money.
Anyway. We go again. Redemption arc loading. Here are this Sunday’s selections…
Brighton to win vs Nottingham Forest

Brighton haven’t exactly been tearing up the league, but at least they’re not setting it on fire and standing in it like Forest.
Nottingham Forest‘s season has had more plot twists than a Netflix drama – unfortunately, none of them have been good.
When you’ve had more managers than wins in 2026, you’re not building a project, you’re hosting auditions.
Yes, they heroically clung on against Liverpool until the 97th minute last week. But almost isn’t good enough at this stage of the season.
Brighton, meanwhile, are just like we have come to expect from them in recent years, nothing spectacular, but they get the job done.
At home, this feels like a fairly sensible leg. And by “sensible,” I mean the kind that ruins the entire bet if it goes wrong.
Manchester United to win vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United have been absolutely flying under Michael Carrick. The feel-good factor seems to be back.
The football? Shockingly enjoyable. I’m as surprised as anyone.
Meanwhile, the Eagles have seemingly crash-landed. When you’re nervously clinging to a win against 10-man Wolves, alarm bells should be ringing. Loudly. Possibly with flashing lights.
Crystal Palace‘s early-season form probably buys them safety, but that won’t buy them points here.
United have pace, confidence, and that slightly dangerous aura of a team that suddenly believes in itself.
And a confident Manchester United is not something you want to face on a Sunday morning.
Fulham to win vs Tottenham Hotspur

Right. Here’s the chaos leg.

Tottenham can only recently be described as an ongoing social experiment. Every week feels like performance art. You tune in not knowing if you’ll see brilliance or a defensive line playing hide and seek.
Fulham, on the other hand, looked sharp last weekend – and scoring three at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light is no small feat. (Yes, I’m still processing it.)
The issue with Fulham is consistency. They’re the footballing equivalent of my lifestyle routine. I’m in the gym every day, but then I’m eating Dominos and DoorDash for dinner.
The sensible option would be a double chance. But since when did we take the sensible option? Back Fulham.
