Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a 96th-minute screamer from outside the box to secure a 2-2 draw for Everton in their Premier League clash with Manchester United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.
After cruising for most of the game courtesy of a Bryan Mbeumo goal in the 46th minute, a defensive lapse from Luke Shaw allowed Tyrique George to level the match with a top-corner rocket of his own.
What followed were moments of panic and rash actions from Man United’s backline, with the club’s lack of recruitment in defensive areas highlighted yet again.

It was heavily reported throughout the summer window that Everton boss David Moyes was in desperate need of more incomings, but the experienced manager has promised to do more with less this season.
He said: “For periods we played well. I thought Man Utd played better than they have done in their other games.
“The first goal we concede is shabby. But I thought if anyone was going to go on and win the game after we equalise it would be us. I set out to win.
“For us, to give the crowd moments, it was a big moment. But I wanted to win and I thought we were capable of winning. I need to win my home games.”
“Sometimes when you’ve got less players, it means everyone has to be ready,” Moyes added.
“Players on the fringes are going to have to show why they deserve to be involved. When you’ve got a small squad you have to find a way to make it work.”
Surprised by Man United frailties
Man United boss Michael Carrick said he was surprised by his side’s lack of control and inability to see out the final minutes of the game, in which they were leading.
“Some of our attacking players were really good and we looked dangerous and did a lot of things that we were trying to do,” he said
“And for the most part, I thought we dealt with them quite well. Maybe there’s a little bit of managing the game a little bit better.
“It hurts as we came here to win and we put ourselves in a good position.”
