You’re probably confident of picking a winning bet as Arsenal host Hull City this week – but are you good enough to spot a winning position on beFluxer, where you buy and sell your favourite sports teams, and watch their value change based on performances?
Arsenal took a huge step in the title race when they won 1-0 at Liverpool last weekend, but Saturday’s home game against Hull should present a very different sort of challenge.
Kai Havertz’s early winner at Anfield secured Arsenal’s eighth victory in nine Premier League matches and moved Mikel Arteta’s side three points clear at the top. They then followed it up with a 2-1 Champions League win at Slavia Prague on Wednesday, extending their excellent run and underlining the control they have shown for most of the season.
That control has been the defining feature of Arsenal’s recent performances. They have kept six clean sheets in nine league games and, while they have not always looked completely explosive in attack, they have consistently found ways to manage matches and limit opponents. Wins over Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Everton were all built on that same platform.
Hull are unlikely to make life straightforward.
Sergej Jakirović’s promoted side sit 11th with 11 points and may be on a seven-match winless run, but five draws in their opening nine league fixtures suggest they are more competitive than that sequence might imply. They have already frustrated Chelsea and Everton this season, and they were only minutes away from beating Ipswich before conceding a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw last weekend.
Hull’s low-possession style should make them fairly comfortable defending deep and trying to turn this into an awkward afternoon for Arsenal. Bukayo Saka’s absence is still significant for the hosts, even if Havertz continues to deliver and Viktor Gyökeres produced a goal and an assist in midweek to show that Arteta has other solutions.
That also makes this fixture an interesting one on beFluxer, where users take positions on teams rather than simply backing a match result. Arsenal are currently priced at 97.50 FXC, but because expectations are so high, a routine win does not necessarily lead to a rise in value.
If Arsenal win and score just one or two goals, their price would fall to 88.78, a drop of 8.9%, while even a victory in which they score exactly three times would still bring a slight 0.7% decline to 96.83. To generate a meaningful increase, Arsenal need a more emphatic result: scoring four or five goals would lift them to 110.58 (+13.4%), while scoring six or more would send them up to 133.26 (+36.7%).
Hull’s side of the market is arguably even more interesting. Their current price is 35.77 FXC, and because they are such clear underdogs, they can still gain value even in defeat if they stay competitive. A Hull win would lift them to 44.18 (+23.5%), while a draw would take them to 40.52 (+13.3%).
Even losing while conceding only one or two goals would raise their price to 38.19 (+6.8%), and a three-goal defeat would still produce a small gain to 36.01 (+0.7%).
It is only when the game gets away from them that the downside becomes more severe, with a defeat while conceding four or five goals dropping them to 29.39 (-17.8%), and six or more conceded sending them down to 19.39 (-45.8%).
The platform’s Phase 2 Beta Challenge provides 10,000 FXC in demo credit, with effective trading volume helping determine what proportion of the remaining credit can move into a protected balance ahead of launch. The FXC is not withdrawable cash, and positions carry the risk of losing the amount allocated to them.
Arsenal should still have too much quality, but Hull have shown enough resilience to suggest this may be another controlled rather than spectacular home win. A 2-0 or 3-0 Arsenal success feels the likeliest outcome, which is exactly the sort of distinction that matters on beFluxer.
