Aston Villa have signed Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka on a free transfer, while AC Milan attacker Rafael Leão appears hesitant to join the Birmingham-based club.
Additionally, Chelsea have acquired the services of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez for £7.5 million, aiming to address their woes between the posts.
The deal for Nicolas Jackson is reportedly set to be finalised late on Friday or Saturday in a deal worth up to £65m.

“We can deal with it after the transfer window closes,” AC Milan boss Ruben Amorim said in a press conference regarding Leão.
“It’s difficult to talk about individual situations. I promise I’ll answer all your questions about the transfer market at the next press conference.
“Leão is an excellent player and, with the right mentality, he can play for any team in the world.
“But you have to have the right mentality, and sometimes in football there comes a time when it’s best to go elsewhere. And that’s the situation we’re in today.”

Two deals on the table
AC Milan are juggling two deals at the moment, one with Turkish giants Galatasaray and the other with Aston Villa.
The Villans’ transfer package comprises a loan with a subsequent buy obligation, consisting of a £6.8m loan fee and a £36m full transfer fee.
Galatasaray, conversely, are offering an immediate transfer worth £38.5m plus add-ons.
Goretzka and Jackson
Goretzka is set to become Aston Villa’s eighth summer signing, with boss Unai Emery in desperate need of reinforcements in midfield after Youri Tielemans left for Manchester United in a £35m move earlier in the window.
Jackson is currently undergoing his medical with Villa, with the Senegalese likely to become the club’s all-time record signing upon completion.
