Callum Close
Callum Close is a sports writer who graduated from the University of Sunderland in the summer of 2025.
He is a fanatic football fan – supporting Newcastle United – and one of his middle names is ‘Shearer’ courtesy of Magpies-supporting parents.
Callum has held a season ticket for the past 10 years and follows the club to away matches across the country and on the continent.
Outside of football, his main sport is horse racing – though he does enjoy F1 too.
His enjoyment and enthusiasm for betting provides him with knowledge of a range of bookmakers, betting terminology and trends.
Callum’s main gambling sports are football and horse racing.
He often places accumulators and bet-builders, though tends to stay away from the each-way market in racing.
