Arsenal battered Inter Milan during the mid-week UEFA Champions League action, despite being unable to break down Sean Dyche’s orchestrated low-block at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
It was the latest of back-to-back 0-0 draws from their most recent English Premier League matches, whilst manager Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t lost any of their last 12 matches, across all competitions.
Their latest loss came when they succumbed to former manager Unai Emery’s Aston Villa on a not-so-good evening in early December.
Liverpool are a mess, and City are faltering, leaving a sense of it’s now or never for Arsenal to claim their first English Premier League title in over two decades.
Meanwhile, new boss Michael Carrick began life in charge of Manchester United with a 2-0 win in the Manchester derby over Manchester City.
City haven’t done much for the form having been hammered in the Arctic Circle during the week, but the manner of United’s win can only be commended.
The result saw United win their first match since Boxing Day, following three successive draws with Wolves, Leeds and Burnley and a defeat away to Brighton in the FA Cup.
What are the best bets for Arsenal vs Man Utd?
Arsenal’s form speaks for itself, and for that reason, Arsenal to win seems an obvious shout in this game.
They have won 15 of their 22 Premier League matches this campaign and will welcome a return to the Emirates Stadium, where they are unbeaten across all competitions this season.
Gabriel Jesus scored a brace in the win over Inter, but whether he starts this match against Manchester United is a question that I’m not willing to answer.
Bukayo Saka is a much safer option, and he has contributed to seven Premier League goals so far this season.
Backing the England winger to score or assist is a viable option in this match, whilst he is also often on the end of some poor tackles.
He has been fouled an average of 2.3 times per game this season, so taking him to be fouled more than once seems like a banker.
