AFC Bournemouth will play their first home match of the 2025/26 English Premier League season on Saturday, as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers. 

The Cherries return to the south coast for the first time this season, off the back of a difficult opener in which they lost 4-2 to Liverpool at Anfield. 

Manager Iraola Andoni’s side put up a good fight against last season’s English Premier League champions, with them coming back from two goals down to tie the match 2-2. 

Despite eventually succumbing to Liverpool’s superior attack, that performance would have brewed optimism for the new campaign – off the back of a season in which they equalled their highest-ever top-flight finish. 

The visitors, meanwhile, began life without talisman Matheus Cunha with a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City. 

Although losing to Manchester City isn’t in itself a cause for concern, their lack of transfer business – and strength of other teams at the bottom of the league – has meant that whispers of potential relegation have surrounded Molineux.

Manager Vítor Pereira’s side will be desperate to get their first points on the board, as they look to find their feet after a turbulent summer transfer window.
