Liam Rosenior’s side are now preparing to face title challengers Manchester City, who won the first trophy of the season prior to the international break.
City defeated Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final and went on to knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup, though they have also been knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid.
Pep Guardiola’s side resume the season nine points behind Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, but with a game in hand over the Gunners.

Both teams need to win this game for different reasons, so I expect a very tight affair.
That being said, City haven’t lost to Chelsea since the 2021 Champions League final – including winning four of their last five matches at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have also lost both of their last two Premier League matches without scoring a goal.
I’m backing City to win this match, and usually when that happens, Erling Haaland is on the scoresheet.
The Norwegian striker is the Premier League’s top goalscorer this season, and he has netted five goals in his last five matches against Chelsea.
