Tottenham spent the opening weeks of the Premier League season looking like a club determined to make last year’s problems a permanent fixture. Three consecutive wins later, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are suddenly heading in the right direction.

Spurs travel to Elland Road on Saturday, 7 November, looking to extend a winning run that has included victories over Coventry City, Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

Their latest success was a 2-0 win over Palace, with Archie Grey and Jan Paul van Hecke scoring. Tottenham have now climbed to ninth, having failed to win any of their opening six league matches.

Leeds United’s trajectory has been rather different.

Daniel Farke’s side made an encouraging start following their return to the Premier League, but their momentum has stalled. A 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth last weekend extended their winless run to five matches, leaving them 12th with 11 points from nine games.

There is a catch, though. Leeds have only lost twice in the league this season, and five draws suggest they are considerably harder to beat than their recent results might imply.

That makes Saturday’s lunchtime meeting an interesting test of Tottenham’s recovery. Spurs have rediscovered their attacking rhythm, but Elland Road is rarely an accommodating place for visiting sides to demonstrate how much better they’ve become.

What are the best betting tips for Leeds vs Tottenham?

Tottenham draw no bet

Tottenham’s revival has been one of the more dramatic changes in form over the past month. After six league games without a victory, De Zerbi’s side have won three in succession and finally appear to be finding some consistency.

Beating Chelsea away was particularly encouraging, while the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace showed Spurs can control a game without needing to turn it into an end-to-end contest.

Leeds are unlikely to make things straightforward. Farke’s side have lost only two of nine league fixtures, and their five draws highlight how regularly they remain competitive.

That is why the draw-no-bet market appeals more than a straightforward Tottenham victory. Spurs arrive with the better momentum, but the selection provides some protection against another stubborn Leeds performance.

Both teams to score

Leeds have struggled for results recently, but that does not necessarily mean they will spend Saturday defending their own penalty area.

Farke knows the importance of Elland Road, and his side should look to put Tottenham under pressure rather than allow De Zerbi’s midfield to dictate proceedings.

Spurs have improved considerably in possession, with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes providing a platform for Mohammed Kudus, James Maddison and their attacking options.

However, Tottenham’s preference for playing through pressure can leave opportunities for opponents to attack quickly when possession changes hands.

Leeds should have opportunities of their own, particularly if they can get Dominic Calvert-Lewin involved around the penalty area. Both teams to score looks a reasonable way of approaching a fixture in which Tottenham’s attacking improvement does not necessarily guarantee a clean sheet.

Mohammed Kudus shot on target

Kudus offers an interesting individual angle because of the freedom he has in Tottenham’s attacking system.

The Ghana international can receive the ball wide, carry it inside and attack defenders directly. His willingness to shoot makes him a useful option in a game where Spurs should enjoy spells of sustained possession.

Leeds’ potential defensive absences could also matter. James Justin and Gabriel Gudmundsson are fitness concerns, while Joe Rodon is working his way back from a hamstring injury.

A single shot on target is a more measured selection than backing Kudus to score. Tottenham do not need to dominate the entire match for him to find one shooting opportunity from a dangerous position.

Leeds predicted lineup and team news

Predicted formation: 3-4-2-1

Predicted XI: Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Ampadu, Stach, Gudmundsson; Wilson, James; Calvert-Lewin.

Daniel Farke faces several selection concerns following the defeat at Bournemouth. James Justin and Gabriel Gudmundsson both picked up knocks and will need late fitness assessments before Saturday’s match.

Joe Rodon is nearing a return from a hamstring injury, although Leeds may decide against rushing him back. Noah Okafor is also doubtful with an adductor problem, while Mateo Joseph remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Anton Stach could return to the starting lineup after being restricted to the bench against Bournemouth. His physical presence alongside Ethan Ampadu should help Leeds compete against Tottenham’s increasingly settled midfield.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to lead the attack, supported by Daniel James and Harry Wilson. The former Everton striker has scored four league goals this season and remains Leeds’ most reliable source of goals.

Tottenham predicted lineup and team news

Predicted formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted XI: Kinsky; Gray, Van Hecke, Van de Ven, Robertson; Fernandes, Tonali; Kudus, Maddison, Tel; Marmoush.

Roberto De Zerbi has fewer reasons to change his side after three consecutive Premier League victories, although Tottenham still have several injury problems to manage.

Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Savio and Mykhailo Mudryk are among the unavailable players. Lucas Bergvall is also a fitness concern, while Tosin Adarabioyo’s availability remains uncertain.

Rodrigo Bentancur is due to return from suspension, but the partnership of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali has performed well enough to justify keeping both players in the starting lineup.

Archie Gray could retain his place at right-back after scoring against Crystal Palace, despite Pedro Porro returning to fitness. Further forward, Omar Marmoush is pushing to start ahead of Dominic Solanke, with Mohammed Kudus, James Maddison and Mathys Tel expected to provide the attacking support.

Leeds vs Tottenham prediction

There is a temptation to treat Tottenham’s recent winning run as evidence that their early-season problems have disappeared. Three victories certainly represent progress, but a trip to Elland Road will provide a different challenge.

Leeds have been frustratingly difficult to beat, even during their recent winless sequence. Five draws in nine matches suggest Farke has built a side capable of staying competitive without necessarily producing much attacking quality.

The biggest concern for the hosts is their lack of goals. Nine in nine league games is a modest return, and their attacking options have not always made the most of promising positions.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have begun to look more convincing in midfield. Tonali and Fernandes offer the control that was missing earlier in the campaign, while Kudus gives De Zerbi an unpredictable attacking outlet.

Leeds should have their moments, particularly through Calvert-Lewin’s aerial presence and the movement of James and Wilson. However, Tottenham’s improved attacking combinations could prove decisive against a defence potentially missing several regulars.

We expect Leeds to make Spurs work for the points, but the visitors’ recent improvement gives them a narrow advantage.

Final score prediction: Leeds United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
