Monday Night Football serves up what could be an English Premier League classic, as Newcastle United host Liverpool at St James’ Park. 

These two clubs have been the talk of the summer, with Newcastle’s want-away striker Alexander Isak pushing for a move to Monday night’s opponents.

The Magpies hadn’t defeated Liverpool since 2015, until last season’s Carabao Cup final where they won 2-1 and claimed their first domestic trophy in 70 years. 

Off the back of that result and the Isak saga, combined with an ensured volatile St James’ Park, Newcastle to get a result here is a shrewd price. 

Over 2.5 goals in the match 

Goals are always apparent when these two sides meet, with four of the last five meetings featuring at least three goals. 

Joelinton to commit over 1.5 fouls 

The Brazilian midfielder is no stranger to a foul and will never shy away from confrontation, as proved last season where he was Newcastle’s second-most carded player (10). 

He also averaged the most fouls per 90 minutes (2.2) last year, and was booked in last weekend’s opener against Aston Villa.
