Tottenham vs Burnley betting tips, best bets and how to watch

Tottenham to win

Over 2.5 goals

Quilindschy Hartman to commit 1+ foul

Burnley’s return to the top flight is welcomed by a visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in what will be a juxtaposing battle of riches.

Following Ange Postecoglou’s impromptu departure as Tottenham head coach, Thomas Frank arrives at the Europa League winners with an expectation to rival England’s elite.

On the other hand, Burnley arrive with the prioritised aim of avoiding the abhorrent “yo-yo” status and retaining their position in the English Premier League under Scott Parker.

EPL Bets writer Ethan Pitts has put together a three-legged treble that could net you a tidy profit on this game. Here is his reasoning behind it.

What are the best bets for Tottenham vs Burnley?

Tottenham to win

Going into Saturday’s clash, the bookmakers have Tottenham as firm favourites to open their campaign with three points, and it’s hard to argue otherwise.

Frank’s integration into the club has appeared pretty smooth sailing, and with a full understanding of what it takes to be successful in the English Premier League it is hard to see his team starting slow come Saturday.

The arrival of Mohammed Kudus at Spurs gives both variety and dynamism in a position the Lilywhites have needed since the departure of Lucas Moura in the summer of 2023.

In the last 10 meetings between the sides, Tottenham have won 8, drawn 1, and lost just once – establishing themselves as the superior side between the two in recent history.

With home advantage and a seismic wave of attacking depth, taking Tottenham to win at the weekend is a no-brainer in this treble.

Over 2.5 goals

With Postecoglou, taking the over on goals was almost a week-by-week necessity. This season remains no different under Frank’s tutelage.

Despite the departure of captain, Heung Min Son, Tottenham still hold many of the key pieces that allowed them to score over two goals per game at home last season.

Unfortunately for Burnley, they have lost three key players in Josh Brownhill, CJ Egan-Riley and James Trafford – all of whom were huge contributors to their record-breaking defensive accolades in the second-tier.

It is hard to see how Burnley’s new-look defence will be able to cope with the athleticism this Tottenham attack provides, and therefore I expect to see a very high-scoring game.

For these reasons, and Tottenham’s defence not being exactly watertight themselves, over 2.5 goals appears to be a valid selection for this fixture’s treble.

Quilindschy Hartman to commit 1+ foul

Signed from Feyenoord for £10.4m in the summer, Quilindschy Hartman arrives into the Premier League against one of the league’s most dangerous wide-players in Mohammed Kudus.

Known for his direct style of play, Kudus will look to utilize his pace to draw as many fouls as possible from his opposition counterpart.

Coming off a yellow card in his last match, it’s hard to see Hartman enjoying much success against a player who averaged just over two fouls a game last season.

For these reasons, I’ll be taking Hartman to commit a foul to finish off this game’s treble.
