Manchester City continued their perfect start to the 2026/27 Premier League season with a 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Enzo Maresca’s side have now won all six of their opening league games, moving three points clear at the top of the table after another impressive performance.
However, there were plenty of other talking points across gameweek six, with Chelsea scoring five goals, Arsenal coming from behind to win and Manchester United losing more momentum.
Man City make statement
The biggest game of the weekend saw Man City travel to Anfield following the controversy surrounding the club’s guilty verdict on 114 Premier League charges.
Liverpool were competitive for much of the game, but Ryan Gravenberch’s red card in the 62nd minute changed the contest.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring three minutes later before Jérémy Doku doubled the lead.
Rayan Cherki then completed the victory in the 78th minute.
The result keeps Man City top of the table and leaves Liverpool with plenty of work to do after a difficult afternoon in front of their home supporters.

Chelsea, Arsenal secure wins
Chelsea produced one of the most convincing performances of the weekend, beating Bournemouth 5-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Jordan Henderson and João Pedro scored twice each as Chelsea responded to Evanilson’s goal with a strong attacking performance.
Arsenal likewise secured three points, but Mikel Arteta’s side had to work hard against Leeds United.
Leeds took the lead through James Justin in the second half, only for Riccardo Calafiori to equalise minutes later before Bruno Guimarães scored the winner to secure a 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa and Brentford played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Man Utd drop points
The Red Devils looked set to secure a narrow win over Tottenham after Bryan Mbeumo scored in the second half.
However, Dominic Solanke’s stoppage-time equaliser earned Spurs a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
Elsewhere, Brighton claimed a 2-0 away victory over Sunderland and Ipswich Town scored twice late on to beat Fulham 2-1.
On Sunday, Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1, while Hull City and Everton shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
Gameweek six has given Man City an early advantage in the title race, but Arsenal and Chelsea have shown they can keep the pressure on.
Liverpool, though, will need a response after their defeat at Anfield.
