Enzo Fernandez seemed to take a crack at Chelsea upon his Manchester City move, implying the Manchester club has a ‘bigger club status’ compared to the Blues.
The 25-year-old claimed he “always dreamed of being at a club as big as City.”
Man City bought Fernandez for a Premier League record-equaling £125million fee.
A club built for success
“Manchester City are the most successful club in England in recent times,” Fernandez said after his big-money move.
“Every player wants to be part of a club like this because everyone knows how well-run City are.
“I could not be happier to be here, and I am ready for the challenge of helping City continue winning trophies. This is a club built for success.
“If you look across the squad, City have quality in every area. I want to learn from my new team-mates and become a better player.

Always improving
“I pride myself on continually improving my game,” Fernandez continued. “Anyone who’s worked with me will know how hard I train every single day and how much I put into matches.
“I give absolutely everything and I can promise Manchester City that will continue now I’m here.”
No hesitation
Fernandes told Man City’s website: “In every competition we play in, we have to compete and win, because this club’s history demands that.
“To be honest, from the first day they believed in me and called me to say they wanted me to join the club, I didn’t hesitate for a second.
“It’s a club that has won a lot in recent years. It’s a club that is making history in football and, for me, it’s a huge challenge.”
Fernandez will wear the No 17 shirt for the club.
