Manchester United suffered a hefty 4-1 defeat to Italian side Como in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 21.
Michael Carrcik’s men fell behind only two minutes into the game, with star of the match Nico Paz shooting the ball into the top corner for Como’s first goal of the night.
Paz was involved in the next goal, with Anastasios Douvikas scoring four minutes into the second half, before Paz completed his brace in the 57th minute.
Jacobo Ramon made it four with 14 minutes left of normal time, while Manchester United managed to find the net in stoppage time through Joshua Zirkzee.
In a game of many missed chances and close calls, it was Cesc Fabregas’ side that took home the three points.

Man Utd’s winless run continues
The result sees Como in ninth with six points from three games, while Manchester United sit in a worrying 21st place with only three points.
This marked the Red Devils’ second consecutive Champions League loss, having lost to Atletico Madrid in the previous matchweek, with their only win coming against Azerbaijan team Sabah FK.
The game against Sabah also marks the last win for Carrick’s men in all competitions, having suffered three draws and four losses since then.
They are now winless in seven consecutive games across all competitions for the first time since a run of eight matches between November and December 2015.
Carrick reacts to Como defeat
Speaking after the defeat, Carrick said, “I’m really angry but you’ve got to move on and deal with what’s next. At this moment in time, there’s a lot to do before the next game to get the team ready, because that was a difficult night for everybody.
“It’s not about playing for me – it’s about playing for this club. My whole life’s wrapped around it [Man Utd]. I genuinely give everything I possibly can. It’s not about me, it’s about what we all give.”
When asked whether his players had given their all as much as he does, he answered, “I’d like to think so. I didn’t like what I saw tonight though.”
