Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has backed his side for a Premier League triumph, while boss Michael Carrick looks ahead to the new season with renewed optimism.
Carrick led Man United to 12 wins out of 17 games in the aftermath of the Ruben Amorim era last season.
His respectable record as interim boss earned him a full-time position in the role, with a notable third-place Premier League finish stamping the authority of his growing credibility.
Yoro: ‘We have to believe we can win the Premier League’
“Yeah, of course,” Yoro told Sky Sports, responding to a question by the press regarding whether he believes his side can win the league.
“We’re Man Utd, so we have to think like that,” he continued. “And I know we have the potential to do it, so we have to do it.
“The mood is really good. We work really hard, and outside the pitch, we have a good vibe, good mood.
“So the target this season is to win every game, to be honest. For the team to be the best, for myself to do good games every time, to win trophies and to be at the top.”

Plenty of ‘good signs’ says Carrick
“Building on what we did for the last seven months, I think there is a lot of good signs for us,” Carrick said after his side’s 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid on August 1.
“It’s never going to be the exact stage we want to be at.
“But I thought there was really a lot of positives to take out of the game, individually, collectively as a team, senior players looking strong and fit and the younger players doing really well,” the Man United boss continued.
Heightened team spirit
“Collectively we looked strong as a team, which is always the most important thing, and [we looked strong in] individual performances – seeing the young players come on to have an impact.
“It is such a great group to work with… that is what really made today [Saturday] really pleasing.”
