Winger Brennan Johnson could be set to swap Tottenham Hotspur for a rival English Premier League club, with a deal agreed on Tuesday morning, according to reports.
Johnson is contracted to Tottenham until 2028, but it has been reported that discussions have advanced quickly between his current club and a potential buyer in the last 24 hours.
It is a deal that is rumoured to be in the region of £35m, a fee that is more than £10m less than Johnson cost Spurs on Deadline Day, in September 2023.
The Wales international has garnered interest from a number of Premier League clubs and is yet to make his final decision, with the prospect of first-team football remaining a lucrative prospect for Johnson, who has made only six Premier League starts this season.
However, according to David Ornstein on X, Crystal Palace are the side in pole-position to land the 24-year-old’s signature.
Ornstein wrote: ‘Crystal Palace reach agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over deal to sign Brennan Johnson, subject to 24-year-old accepting move.
Fee approaching £35m in place + clubs keen to proceed but #THFC winger still to decide – more suitors for Wales int’l.’
Palace could face late competition
Bournemouth remain interested in signing Johnson, as they look to replace Antoine Semenyo, who seems set to depart for Manchester City.
The Cherries are already light in wide areas after Ben Gannon-Doak suffered a season-ending injury whilst on international duty with Scotland.
Johnson has netted two Premier League goals so far this season, both of which came in Tottenham’s opening two fixtures of the 2025/26 campaign.
They contribute to his 27 Tottenham goals from 107 appearances since his arrival from Nottingham Forest two years ago.
Despite the departures of Bryan Gil and Son Heung-Min, the competition for places in manager Thomas Frank’s Tottenham side is fierce.
The loan signing of Randal Kolo-Muani added to a summer window that saw Spurs bolster their attack with former West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus and former Bundesliga duo Mathys Tel and Xavi Simons.
Tottenham are currently 11th in the Premier League table and face Brentford in their next match.
