Tottenham are preparing a huge £85million bid for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, despite the Cherries insisting they have no intention of selling him this summer.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a superb first season in the Premier League, scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances and quickly establishing himself as one of England’s brightest young forwards.
His form has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Arsenal. However, TalkSPORT reports Spurs are now leading the chase as they look to add another attacking option before the new campaign.
Tottenham ready bid for Eli Junior Kroupi
According to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Tottenham are ready to see whether Bournemouth will stick to their public stance by submitting an opening offer worth around £85million.
Speaking on The Window, Crook said Spurs are one of several clubs tracking the France Under-21 international.
“He has lots of potential suitors, Arsenal amongst them.
“Tottenham are preparing a potential £85million bid for Junior Kroupi to try and test Bournemouth’s resolve that he is not for sale this summer.”
Despite the growing interest, Bournemouth remain firm. The club’s position is that Kroupi will stay at the Vitality Stadium, while fellow midfielder Alex Scott is also expected to remain despite attracting attention from elsewhere.
Crook added that Bournemouth are currently discussing a new contract with Scott after Arsenal enquired, but the speculation around Kroupi is beginning to gather pace.
Spurs set to continue huge summer spending
If Spurs do push ahead with the deal, it would continue one of the biggest spending sprees in the club’s history.
Roberto De Zerbi has already welcomed several new faces to North London, with the club spending well over £200million already this summer.
Mateus Fernandes arrived in an £85million deal from relegated West Ham before the club smashed their transfer record again to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for £100million.
Jan Paul van Hecke has also joined from Brighton, while Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka all arrived on free transfers.
Crook believes another forward is high on Tottenham’s wishlist.
“They want another forward player. That would probably see Richarlison depart. As I say, the message coming out of the south coast is that Kroupi is not for sale this summer.”
Kroupi enjoyed a breakthrough season
Kroupi signed for Bournemouth in February 2025 on a five-and-a-half-year contract and wasted little time making an impact.
The French youngster scored 13 Premier League goals during his debut campaign and earned a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
He also played a key role in Bournemouth’s impressive sixth-place finish, helping the club qualify for the Europa League for the first time in their history.
A Tottenham bid for Eli Junior Kroupi is unlikely to be Bournemouth’s last test this summer, but the Cherries remain determined to keep hold of their star forward.
