West Ham and Callum Wilson are rumoured to be discussing the termination of the striker’s contract after a short-lived spell at the club.
The former England international made the switch to East London on a free in August after his contract with Newcastle ended. The deal was understood to be a one-year, heavily incentivised agreement that would keep Wilson at the club until the end of the season.
Things have since gone south for both parties, however, with Wilson managing just four goals for a West Ham side that now find themselves in danger of a first relegation in 15 years.
The Hammers currently sit precariously in 18th place in the English Premier League, seven points from Nottingham Forest and safety.

Just a few years ago, Callum Wilson was one of the hottest strikers in the Premier League, bagging 18 goals and five assists for a high-flying Newcastle side during the 2022/23 season.
His earlier days at Bournemouth earned him a reputation as a proven goalscorer for a struggling team. However, repeated injuries have disrupted his career in recent seasons, as different ailments have kept him sidelined.
At 33 years of age, it is hard to imagine those issues improving any time soon.
What may yet work in Wilson’s favour is that goals are hard to come by, particularly in the Premier League, and a forward with his instinct in the box will still appeal to clubs further down the table.
Any side in the bottom half who feel he is worth the risk on a free may believe they can still get some production out of him during the run-in.
Wolves are considering a move, while Leeds may consider him if Joel Piroe were to leave on loan.
West Ham’s worrying slide towards danger
Less than three years removed from one of the best days in the club’s history, the London outfit now find themselves slipping further into a relegation fight.

Pablo Felipe arrives from Gil Vicente for around £20m, boasting 10 goals in 13 Liga Portugal appearances this season.
Another £25m secured the signing of Taty Castellanos from Lazio. The Argentina international can look “great on his day but inconsistent”, and the Hammers will need far more consistency to preserve their Premier League status.
