What are the best bets for World Cup Group E?
Germany to win Group E is the obvious starting point. The price is short, but the draw is kind and their opening match against Curaçao gives them a strong chance to settle quickly.
The better value may sit with Ecuador to qualify. They conceded just five goals across 18 CONMEBOL qualifying matches and have the defensive structure to compete with both Germany and Ivory Coast.
That Ivory Coast game is the key. If Ecuador avoid defeat in Philadelphia, their route to the knockouts becomes much cleaner, especially with Curaçao to follow in their second match.
Ivory Coast are dangerous enough to make this close. Their pace and physicality could expose Germany in transition and cause Ecuador problems, but they may need more attacking consistency across all three games.
