The FA Cup fourth round gets underway today, and as always, half of the UK is praying for “the magic of the cup” while the other half is begging for their Parlay not to explode due to Macclesfield beating a Premier League side. Again.

With a glorious mix of inter-division matchups, there’s genuine potential for chaos. Could Manchester United legend-owned Salford knock out Manchester City? Could League Two Grimsby Town topple Premier League (barely) Wolves? Or perhaps the biggest upset of them all… could tiny, old Newcastle beat Aston Villa?

If you’re attempting some kind of chaotic, life-altering, lottery-style punt in the hope of becoming a millionaire, good luck to you.

But if you’re after a slightly more grounded parlay that doesn’t rely entirely on miracles, you’re in the right place.

Here are my picks for our FA Cup Fourth Round parlay.

Chelsea to Beat Hull City

Liam Rosenior will absolutely have a chip on his shoulder here. Returning to face one of his former clubs, he’ll want to prove his managerial credentials at his old stomping ground.

Chelsea’s recent draw against Leeds – after being 2–0 up – will still sting, and they’ll want to respond. With a squad depth bordering on illegal, even if they rotate, they simply have more quality.

Sentiment is nice. Superior players are nicer.

West Ham to Beat Burton Albion

Not long ago, West Ham looked completely lost – nailed on for relegation and possibly writing apology letters in advance.

Fast forward to 2026, and they’ve rediscovered something resembling competence. Confidence is back, structure looks better, and they suddenly seem capable of staying up.

Yes, they’ll likely rotate. No, it shouldn’t matter. Burton are walking into a team keen to keep momentum rolling.

Burnley to Beat Mansfield Town

Right. Let’s address this.

I have a special, deeply personal resentment toward Burnley. Mostly because I chose Crystal Palace in my last-man-standing prediction competition last week… and Burnley suddenly decided to win for the first time since October, disgusting.

That bitterness aside, Scott Parker will see this as a golden opportunity to build momentum. Burnley will likely throw everything at this – possibly including the kitchen sink, a spare toaster, and Sean Dyche’s old gravel voice notes.

It might not be pretty. It might be deeply annoying. But it should be enough.

Manchester City to Beat Salford City

Let’s be serious.

Manchester City could rest 22 players, pick 11 names out of a hat and still field a team capable of winning this comfortably.

The gulf here is astronomical. Salford being Manchester United legend-owned adds spice, sure – but spice doesn’t beat a £1 billion squad.

Also, has anyone heard anything about those 115 Financial Fair Play charges? Just checking.

Aston Villa to Beat Newcastle United

The league might be Villa’s priority, but they have more than enough to deal with Newcastle.

Yes, Newcastle beat Spurs. But it’s Spurs. That result comes with an automatic asterisk.

Eddie Howe may have eased a bit of pressure with that win, but let’s not pretend everything is rosy. Newcastle away from home have been… how do we put this kindly… shocking.

Villa Park, on the other hand, is not somewhere you wander into casually. This feels like one step too far for the Magpies. Villa will edge it.

Wolves to Beat Grimsby Town

Yes, Grimsby is a real place. Yes, it’s the place from that Sacha Baron Cohen film – ‘Grimsby’. And yes, they have a soccer team.

I cannot believe I have Premier League strugglers Wolves and Burnley in the same parlay. I guess that’s the magic of the FA Cup!

Jokes aside, Wolves have shown slight signs of life recently. Improvement might be a strong word, and they are still doomed. But this is the kind of game they’ll target as a morale booster – because let’s face it, they’re not exactly playing for much else.

On paper, this is sensible, logical, and reasonable. Which, of course, means Wolves and Burnley will let this down. It is the FA Cup after all!
