Chelsea aren’t a team to rely on, but Newcastle’s away form has been pitiful. When you combine that with a poor record at Stamford Bridge, it is hard to see Chelsea losing this match.
Newcastle’s full focus appeared to be on Tuesday night’s Champions League match, in their penultimate game against Manchester City.
The Magpies failed to lay a glove on City despite going 1-0 up in the match. But they did put in a much better performance against Barcelona and were unlucky not to win.
I expect this to be a similar story, with Chelsea’s superior quality enough to see them over the line in a match where neither side will be at their best.
Chelsea to win and both teams to score is my bet, as this has landed in both of the most recent head-to-heads at Stamford Bridge.
