Mauricio Pochettino has named his 26-man USMNT squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, with several Premier League players making the cut ahead of their opener against Paraguay.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea boss has selected a strong squad, including players from a variety of Europe’s top leagues as well as from the MLS.
The United States will co-host the 2026 World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico, adding even more pressure and expectation on Pochettino’s squad to perform on home soil.

Giovanni Reyna returns to the USA squad after controversy
Another standout point from the USA squad announcement was the inclusion of Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Giovanni Reyna.
The 23-year-old son of ex-Sunderland and Man City star Claudio Reyna was involved in controversy at the 2022 World Cup when the manager Gregg Berhalter reportedly nearly removed him from the squad due to attitude concerns.
The situation later escalated into an investigation involving Berhalter and Reyna’s family, creating major headlines across international football.
Despite the past controversy, Pocettino has restored faith in Reyna by including him in his final 26-man squad for the summer’s tournament.

The USA are in Group D, which consists of the USA, Paraguay, Australia and Turkey.
The USA will start their World Cup campaign against Paraguay in Los Angeles, before travelling to Seattle to face Australia. They will then return to Los Angeles to finish their Group games against Turkey.
