Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League following their 1-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday, November 1.
The win marked Arsenal’s first at Anfield in 14 years.
Both sides had plenty of opportunities to score, but it was Kai Havertz who made the difference, giving the Gunners the lead just 16 minutes into what was a tight defensive contest.
Iraola frustrated by penalty decision
Liverpool were denied an opportunity to equalise minutes after the German’s goal when an incident between Alexander Isak and Jurrien Timber occurred.
Isak saw his effort from a Bradley Barcola cross go wide as Timber held him back, but the officials failed to spot the foul.
Speaking post-match, Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola expressed his frustration over the decision.
“The Alex Isak one is a clear penalty,” he said
“We can all see that he holds the shirt. The ball just goes one centimetre in front of Alex.
“The fact that you are even asking me that he should have gone to the floor, that’s the thing.
“If he goes to the floor, they call the penalty. They call the penalty 100 per cent.”
Asked whether he will instruct his players to go down in the future, Andoni added: “Yes, definitely. Alex is honest, he plays for the goal. It’s a clear, clear pull.”

Arteta ’extremely proud’ of result
Arsenal also had a penalty appeal shortly after Liverpool’s when Gakpo and Christos Tzolis tangled, but again the officials decided against awarding a penalty.
However, the reigning Premier League champions will be happy with the win and their return to the top of the table.
“It feels better as a manager [to win at Anfield], because it’s been such a long time. We really needed it,” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said after the game.
“We’re extremely proud, especially because of the conditions we arrive in the game after defeat to Fleetwood [in the League Cup]. We had to pick ourselves up.
“This is the mission, which we hadn’t completed for 14 years. We knew we needed to nail absolutely everything and navigate through periods where we suffer.
“They create chaos moments. It was very impressive and I’m very happy.”
On ending Arsenal’s long wait for an Anfield win, he added: “I had the feeling, now is the moment, we had to dig deep and have an element of luck at times.
“We had quality in key moments and we’ve done it.”
