Last week’s tie should have featured more goals than it did, not least because of dubious VAR decisions but also because of how end-to-end it was.
I expect more of the same in this match, as both teams look to create chances and win the match.
I’m backing both teams to score as Liverpool have seen this land in four of their last five competitive fixtures.
Liverpool to win
As much as I think Galatasaray will make this a difficult game and with Liverpool’s defensive fragility a clear weakness, it would still surprise me to see Liverpool lose this match.
Only Manchester City have won at Anfield in 2026 and though there have been some disappointing results, this is a huge match, so expect Liverpool to be at their best.
Dominik Szoboszlai to score or assist
Liverpool to win, both teams to score, and Dominik Szoboszlai to score or assist is going to be my bet.
Szoboszlai scored in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the weekend, whilst no one has recorded more Champions League goal contributions for Liverpool this season.
